In 2009 I started my service (Karma Yoga) supporting street dogs and in early 2010 I had my first yoga class and I fell in love with this ancient discipline; these two events lead me to stop eating animals (Ahimsa). In 2011 the message of the Hopi Indians was shared with me and I decided to move to Central Mexico to receive a Gathasta Yoga seminar with International Association of Yoga and Yoghismo in Mexico City and I met my teacher Anna Laurita who comes from the beautiful Krishnamacharya lineage; a few months latter I got certified at her traditional-style certified yoga school in Puerto Vallarta Mexico in 2012 as a Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher. For me teaching yoga is a deep spiritual practice (Ishvara Pranidhana) and a beautiful tool that has been given to us in the benefit of humanity.

Melissa Melo

Melissa began practicing Kundalini 6 years ago. After practicing for a year she started with Mysore style Ashtanga which became her personal practice.

One year later she was doing assists in guided classes, and found that Ashtanga can be challenging and frustrating for some people for their first experience of yoga. She was ready for teacher training and this experience had her choose Vinyasa flow to have more options for different bodies. She received her training, (RYT) with Lori Burwyng in North Carolina.
She is teaching Flow Yoga, and is still studying the ancient texts as she thinks it an essential part of having a complete practice. "I'm still studying how to adapt postures to different bodies, and how to make the practice very aware and kind for everyone in each of the movements".

"Yoga is a beautiful gift to share with everyone who is open to receive its benefits. I love to see happy faces at class without force; it is what I am working with every day!"

"Maybe we cannot change what is going outside, but we can always change what is going on inside"
